If you are just starting your yoga teacher journey and are looking for a journal for you to keep all your notes organised and in easy to find, this is perfect for you.

This journal is what I would have liked to have had when I did my yoga training.

It is made up of 40 asana templates for you to add your own notes.

Each template has 6 pages for each yoga pose or asana for you to write notes on.

I personally find the best way of learning is to writing down what I know (or think I know!).

Each asana has space for your notes on:

  • List of what each pose is good for
  • List of what each pose is not good for (Contra-indications)
  • Space for how 6 props such as a strap may affects the pose
  • How long to hold the pose for?
  • What contra pose would complement it
  • Where to find more info on the specific poses (books/webinar)
  • Plenty of space for you to draw or paste in the image of the asana
  • An image of a mat so you can add in feet placement on the mat
  • A page for you to detail transition sequences in/out the pose
  • A page for you to detail if it was the ‘peak pose’ in your class
  • A page for you to have your favorite sequences listed

Each page has groupings of three lines is to help you with sketching proportions, as not many yoga teachers have sketching experience, I know I didn’t when I first started planning my classes!

At the back of the journal there is an index. This is for you to find your poses and sequences quickly, rather than thumbing through the journal.

There is also an Index of References at the back. It may be only your course notes to start with, but I’m sure you’ll end up with a mini library of yoga resources!
