How unique is Your Menopause?
I was introduced to the menopause earlier than most when I was working as a Personal Trainer. I had many clients going through the menopause. However, back in 2006, there was very little information that was for the layman, it was all medical speak. Nowadays, there is a tsunami of information amount the menopause.
When you are reading articles about the menopause, does it sound like your menopause? Frequently it will not. There are 34 symptoms (that we know about) so how unique does that make your menopause, as you will hopefully not experience all 34 symptoms.
The closest I think to an answer is a personal development tool called the Clifton Strengths Assessment. Which is a questionnaire that uses your answers to then orders the 34 success strengths, that is unique to you. The 34 obviously caught my eye.
In their article here, discussing how unique you are. It estimates that the likelihood that or someone having the same top 5 strengths as you is one in 33 million.
Now if we can transfer that to the menopause. If the likelihood of someone having the same menopause experience to you is one in 33 million. Then you are potentially spending a lot of time listening to many menopause solutions (that are providing really sound advice) but it is just not connected to how you are experience your menopause?
There are always generalisations that can be made, and there is definitely a learning curve to understand your menopause. But perhaps discernment is required to who and what you are listening to, in order to personalise solutions that work best for you?
How have you experience this? Do you notice, when people talk about the menopause, is it similar to how you experience it or quite noticeably different?
